Mission
Lucedentro is a company funded in 2006 that deals with photoluminescent applications in many areas: design furniture, construction materials, safety, fashion clothing and many others, which provides technical and aesthetic quality solutions developed in collaboration with designers, architects, artists able to express the full potential of this extraordinary feature.

Photoluminescence is the distinctive physical property of rare inorganic aluminates, found in nature, able to "capture" and hold the sunlight or artificial light and then "return it in the dark over eight hours, with decreasing intensity.

Lucedntro technology makes possible the application of photoluminescence to a virtually unlimited variety of objects through the use of selected pigments reach certified, the recent European legislation that regulates basic chemistry. These inert pigments are not perishable, they are neither toxic nor radioactive, unlike phosphorus, used in the past to obtain similar effects, but with much less time endurance - The presence of heavy metals is well below the limits prescribed by European and American categories of products such as cosmetics and toys.

If you look into darkness for a long time,
there's always something.
(William Butler Yeats)

Vision
In all the visions of the world expressed by Humanity , the relationship between light and darkness has always played a central role, generating metaphors of dichotomy and harmony between these two primary and interdependent elements - There is no darkness without light, no light without darkness. The darkness is the natural condition of the universe and everywhere " to bring light" means, according to every culture, the victory of “logos” over chaos, the destruction versus salvation, rebirth over death. With the recovery of luminescence from natural elements, Lucedentro invents a border line brightness( perdizione ) where the persistence of light despite its absence becomes contact and communication between the two worlds , a bridge of trust between dark and the power of light ,that does not end ,but renews its miracle when it should, instead ,give way to darkness.

There is something magical in an object that refuses to turn off, a free and clean energy, which leads to important suggestions: some have called it a residual luminescence of the original Big Bang, others,as the Japanese Zen master GenjoSan, a memory of light detected by the fetus in the womb, others, like the Italian architect Mino Bellomo a confirmation that the future of light is darkness. With Lucedentro darkness is no longer a threat, but a different condition of living in the beauty, safety and respect for the environment, at zero energy.

Applications
Lucedentro directs its activities according to certain guidelines.

Design
The flexibility of luminescent applications is suitable for a new design concept, where light becomes an integral part of the project ,emphasizing the emotionality of objects, interacting even in the dark. Lamps, glass, ceramics, tiles, bottles, glasses, may now aquire a new dimension in the dark, through luminescence.

Safety
In the event of a blackout Lucedentro’s luminescent pigments make escape routes , emergency exits, stairs ,visible without any other electrical support- In the U.S. the use of these self-illuminating devices is required in many public buildings.

Energy saving
From private or public outdoor spaces such as gardens, terraces, plazas or sidewalks, to specific installations such as swimming pools, fountains, and others, Lucedentro specific technology can save up to 90% energy consumption compared to tradidional electric systems.

Environmental sustainability
Lucedentro uses natural materials whose production cycle has a low environmental impact. The energy savings inherent in the use of luminescent pigments contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions and foster a culture of sustainability.

The values of the "new light" proposed by Lucedentro are synthesized efficiently and beautifully in the sonet that the poet Emilio Rentocchini dedicated to Lucedentro:

“...The leaf made earth beneath time/
becomes desire of a different light/
day restituted in glass/
without night “
